Eternal Souls

Eternal Souls

Upon one summer’s evening, in a ruin garden

I was writing a poem

Of loneliness

And many other feelings

That rage inside my immortal self

You came to my lair, and it was like an arrow had wounded me

Eros was not here

Yet my heart started screaming

Asking kindly

Wouldn’t you come closer

We kissed and the world spun around

My home was on fire

For how could I, a goddess

Fall for a mortal - a mere child compared to me

Yet in that moment, nothing mattered

Zeus tore up the sky above us

Poseidon made the seas overflow

Hades raised the dead

I had lost my mind

Said Hera, but only when they were listening

I cried for answers

For the Heavens to take away my heart

Suffocate its beating

Or make me as good as dust in the wind

How could this story be planned by the Fates

The last time I saw you

You were here, next to me

You were glad

To have met me in this lifetime

Down came lighting, striking straight into your beating heart

How do you slay a God

You do not

But a God can die

Of a broken heart

An empty oath

You drifted away from Life

But I followed you

We’re united

Bound together,

For eternity

Never was there a greater love story

Between a man and a Goddess
