For our latest issue Elina composed a poem titled “These Words Are Not Mine”, Hanna takes a stab at Marvel films and Petteri provides an interesting commentary on Shakespeare’s “Timon of Athens”. Anthony gifts us with yet another fantastic short story and Teemu reflects on his recent trip to a longboard dancing competition. The world is a village now; social media connects us to every corner of the world, millennials work in multilingual environments and regularly holiday abroad. There's a huge generational gap when it comes to language.
Water evaporates, twirling and enveloping me as I look out over the snow-covered lakeshore: my skin prickly, breath foggy and limbs immobile in absolute relaxation--the post-sauna nirvana. Summer twilight--blue and purple hued--the city is asleep as I bike on cobblestones. I'm a little drunk on wine but mostly the light. Feel familiar? These are my memories of Finland. Sensations of home etched into my skin. Yet they are collective.
For me personally, BTSB’s new site is the fruition of my journey to a more healthy and productive view on ability. My hope is that this new platform works as a pedestal upon which the insightful, creative, and entertaining work of talented writers can be showcased with pride.
